An invitation - Call for artists
A recent project involving the creation of a number of self-portraits prompted me to gather images that others have made of me. I was delighted by way the artists creating these portraits of me were shining through the works that they created.
I would like to continue this project of portrats of myself with this invitation.
My invitation to create my portrait does not stem from any belief that my visage represents some glorious exemplar of beauty. In my view my appearance is rather humble. My goal is rather to examine how documenting one person can result in a variety of means of expression. I hesitated to initiate this project for fear that it might be looked upon as vanity, but I do so with the hope that the products of it might reveal the many faceted means of creating portraiture.
